Denise Gallagher likes birds.
She draws them sometimes.
And sometimes she draws other things
like rabbits, and octopi and warthogs.
She takes her pencil with her wherever she goes
and naps in a teacup when she's sleepy.
A while back, some people at the University
thought she was rather talented
and gave her a degree.
She drew them a platypus and went on her way.
There were others who gave her some awards.
These she keeps tucked safely in a cupboard
with her teacups and teaspoons.
